Heelers and Pie

Welcome all, to the the first blog post of "Heelers and Pie". If you're curious about the name, I've chosen it 'cause it's the two things I love the most: heelers and pie.

I mean, what's better than a slice of pie? A slice of pie shared with a friend, of course. And is there a better friend than a dog? Of course not. As such, there's nothing better, nor more exciting, than eating a slice of pie whilst watching a dog eat a slice of pie.

I remember the first time I gave my dog Spot a slice of pecan pie. He just lunged at it. Took a huge mouthful and then walked off 3 steps, and from what I can tell, inhaled it. He came back and did the same thing. He just took big bites, walked away and then came back. He didn't even bother chewing it. Oh he was funny.

So, why am I blogging? What will one gain from reading my blog? I don't know what you'll gain. Hopefully more about computers and you'll get some solutions. I'm a computer programmer and have finally decided to stop using the internet and start contributing.

I program in bash and dash, Python and PHP, Drupal and CherryPy, MySQL and PostgreSQL. I tinker with Apache and Lightty. I use Ubuntu, CentOS, and Mac. I know I've come across problems that many other people have had. I've solved them through trolling forums but I never tell anyone how I did it.

I also love to travel and camp and go for walks and find neat activities.

So, this blog is aimed at a wide variety of people.

I will try to share things I've done at work and in my spare time on a technical basis. But I will also share recipes, and things I like to do which aren't technical in the least bit.

So, without further ado I bring to you, this blog.
